2η φορά στην Κωνσταντινούπολη που αγαπώ ιδιαίτερα!! Την 1η φορά έμεινα στην περιοχή Sultanahmet, την 2η ήθελα να μείνω στο κέντρο κοντά στην οδό Istiklal όπου χτυπά η καρδιά της πόλης. Και διάλεξα λοιπόν ένα φανταστικό ξενοδοχείο λίγα στενά από την οδό Istiklal στην καρδιά της περιοχής Πέρα που πλέον ονομάζεται Beyoğlu, το Marmara Pera Hotel. Και να σου πω την αλήθεια θα ξαναέμενα σίγουρα στο συγκεκριμένο ξενοδοχείο!!

My second time in Istanbul that I fondly love! My first time in the city I’ve stayed at Sultanahmet district but for the second time I wanted to stay near the vibrant Istiklal street where the heart of Istanbul beats day and night! So during my trip in December I’ve chosen a fantastic hotel a few roads from Istiklal street, the Marmara Pera Hotel. And I would absolutely stay a few nights there again!!

Το κομψά ντυμένο προσωπικό του Marmara Pera Hotel μας υποδέχτηκε με μεγάλα χαμόγελα (ειδικά όταν άκουσαν ότι είμαστε Έλληνες) και μας συνόδευσε στο δωμάτιο βοηθώντας μας και με τις βαλίτσες μας! Μάλιστα φτάσαμε νωρίτερα από την ώρα του check-in αλλά μας είπαν πως δεν υπήρχε πρόβλημα και μας έκαναν και upgrade σε ψηλότερο όροφο!!

The staff of the Marmara Pera Hotel welcomed us with a big smile (especially when they heard we are Greeks) and escorted us to our room, a porter helped us with our luggage! We arrived earlier from the time of the check-in but they told us everything is ok, they even upgraded us to a room at a higher floor!!

Τοποθεσία/Location

2′ με τα πόδια από την πολύβουη οδό Istiklal! Πιο κέντρο δεν γίνεται! Μάλιστα είναι περίπου 5′ λεπτά από τον σταθμό του μετρό Şişhane, 5′ από το διάσημο Tünel (το δεύτερο παλαιότερο μετρό στην Ευρώπη) και περίπου 15′ από την πλατεία Taksim. Πραγματικά ήμασταν στην καρδιά της πόλης, ιδανικό για τις μετακινήσεις μας ειδικά το βράδυ!

Centrally located, 2′ minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Istiklal street, the Marmara Pera hotel is literally in the heart of the city! It’s also a short walk (5′) from the metro station Şişhane, 5′ from the famous Tünel (the second oldest metro in Europe) and approximately 15′ from the central Taksim square. The location was ideal for us for exploring and walking the city, especially during the night.

Δωμάτια/Rooms

Ανεβήκαμε λοιπόν στο δωμάτιό μας στον 16ο όροφο και πραγματικά το πρώτο πράγμα που έκανα ήταν να πάω κατευθείαν στο παράθυρο!!! Γιατί η θέα από το δωμάτιο πραγματικά ήταν συγκλονιστική!! Έβλεπα από το παράθυρο τον Πύργο του Γαλατά και στο βάθος την Αγία Σοφία!! Όπως καταλαβαίνεις καθόμουν στην καρέκλα και αγνάντευα τη θέα όταν ξυπνούσα το πρωί και το βράδυ πριν κοιμηθώ και αρκετές φορές ενδιάμεσα όταν βρισκόμασταν στο δωμάτιο!! Η αλήθεια είναι ότι δυσκολευόμουν να αφήσω τη θέση αυτή!

So we reached our room on the 16th floor and the first thing I did when entering was to go straight to the window!! The view was impeccable!! I could see clearly the Galata Tower and the Hagia Sofia museum emerging!! The truth is it was so difficult for me to get up from the armchair and leave my favourite spot in the room…haha….I wanted to soak up these views forever as many times as I could!!

Μείναμε στο Superior Sea δωμάτιο και έχει όλα όσα θες για ένα υπέροχο διήμερο! Σικ διακόσμηση, ένα μεγάλο king κρεβάτι, 32αρα LED τηλεόραση, παντοφλίτσες, minibar, δωρεαν μπουκαλάκια νερό κάθε μέρα, βραστήρα για να φτιάξεις καφέ ή τσάι, air condition, δωρεάν Wi-fi. Και το μπάνιο είχε ένα μεγάλο καθρέφτη (που με βόλεψε απίστευτα για να βάφομαι κάθε μέρα ακόμα κι όταν φορούσα τα γυαλάκια μου), ντουζιέρα και επώνυμα προϊόντα περιποίησης.

We stayed at a Superior Sea room and it really has everything you need for a lovely citybreak! Chic design. a king-sized bed, a 32-inch LED, satellite TV, slippers, minibar, complimentary water bottles every day, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, complimentary wired and Wi-Fi Internet access. The bathroom wasn’s quite spacious but it had a large mirror (perfect for doing my make up every day even with my glasses!), a walk-in shower and toiletries.

Λίγη ώρα αφότου είχαμε τακτοποιηθεί στο δωμάτιο, η πόρτα μας χτύπησε κι ένα μέλος του προσωπικού μας έφερε ένα δωράκι καλωσορίσματος! Τί;; Ένα μπουκάλι κρασί Merlot με ξηρούς καρπούς, σταφίδες και ξερά φρούτα κι ένα μπολ με φρέσκα φρουτάκια!! Πραγματικά αυτή η μικρή κίνηση μας έφτιαξε την ημέρα λίγο παραπάνω και το ίδιο βράδυ ανοίξαμε το κρασάκι και ήπιαμε με φόντο την φωτισμένη Κωνσταντινούπολη!

Almost half an hour after having settled in our room, the door knocked and the staff brought us a welcome gift!! A bottle of Merlot wine, some nuts, almonds, dry raisins and oranges to accompany the wine and some fresh fruits!! And they absolutely made our day with that small and kind gesture! Cheers to you amazing staff of the Marmara Pera Hotel!!

Πρωινό/Breakfast

Ένα από τα πράγματα που αγάπησα στο ξενοδοχείο ήταν και το πολύ πλούσιο πρωινό σε μπουφέ που σερβίρεται στο Café Marmara δίπλα από το λόμπι!! Πολλά είδη φρέσκου ψωμιού, κρουασάν, δημητριακά, μαρμελάδες, γιαούρτια, φρούτα, τυριά και σαλάμια, φυσικούς χυμούς, καφές και σοκολάτα και πολλά άλλα!! Είχε και ζεστά πιάτα όπως αυγό τηγανιτό με σπανάκι, κοτόπουλο, ζεστά pancakes, πίτες (το διάσημο τούρκικο burek).

One of the things I really really loved during my stay was the massive buffet style breakfast at Café Marmara located on the lobby floor!! A large variety of fresh bread, charcuterie and cheese, croissants, jams, yogurts, cereal, fresh fruit and of course juice, tea, chocolate and coffee!! You could also have hot dishes like pies (the famous turkish burek), fried eggs with spinach, chicken and made to order pancakes.

Το Marmara Pera Hotel διαθέτει ένα από τα γνωστότερα και καλύτερα εστιατόρια της πόλης (το Mikla) αλλά κι ένα εκπληκτικό rooftop bar που βλέπεις όλη την Κωνσταντινούπολη πιάτο!!! Και η θέα πραγματικά κόβει την ανάσα!! Μπορείς μάλιστα να την απολαύσεις χαλαρώνοντας στην θερμαινόμενη πισίνα….κρίμα που έκανε κρύο και δεν μπορούσα να βουτήξω (είμαι λίγο κρυουλιάρα τί να κάνουμε…χαχα!

The Marmara Pera Hotel houses one of the most famous and voted best restaurants in the city (Mikla restaurant) and a rooftop bar with mesmerizing views to Istanbul’s Golden Horn and Sultanahmet district! You can also cool off and enjoy the view from the outdoor pool!! So bad it was cold and I couldn’t dive in!!

Αν ψάχνεις για affordable luxury διαμονή στην καρδιά της Κωνσταντινούπολης, απόλαυσα πολύ την διαμονή μου στο Marmara Pera Hotel και στο προτείνω είτε για ταξίδι αναψυχής είτε για business trip! Η θέα τα σπάει, το πρωινό σε κρατάει χορτάτο σχεδόν όλη τη μέρα και το προσωπικό είναι πολύ ευγενικό.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Marmara Pera Hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul either for pleasure or for business and looking for affordable luxury! It has the best views to the city, the staff were courteous and professional and the breakfast fills you for almost the whole day.
