και τριγυρνούσα στην ακροθαλασσιά”…..
Έτσι ξεκινάει ένα από τα πάμπολλα τραγούδια που έχουν γραφτεί για την όμορφη πόλη της Θεσσαλονίκης!!
Λέγαμε πολύ καιρό με τον καλό μου να την επισκεφτούμε αλλά δεν το κανονίζαμε και τελικά το κάναμε μέσα Δεκέμβρη!!! Αφορμή στάθηκε η γιορτή μου στις 21 Νοέμβρη…..τα εισιτήρια για τη Θεσσαλονίκη ήταν το δώρο μου!!! Όπως φαντάζεστε χάρηκα πολύυυυ….είχα να επισκεφτώ και την πόλη από το 2010 επομένως έβαλα στο μυαλό μου να δω καινούρια αλλά και παλιά μέρη της που έχω αγαπήσει. Βεβαια το πρώτο πράγμα που σκέφτηκα ήταν η μυρωδιά των τσουρεκιών του Τερκενλή στη γωνία της Τσιμισκή και η φρεσκοκομμένη μπουγάτσα!!!
48 και κάτι λοιπόν ώρες στην πόλη που πήρε το όνομά της από την ετεροθαλή αδελφή του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου σύμφωνα με το μύθο! Ο ιδρυτής της πόλης ήθελε να τιμήσει την γυναίκα του και έτσι έδωσε το όνομά της στην πόλη.
Φτάσαμε λοιπόν στο αεροδρόμιο ”Μακεδονία” (πρώτη φορά σε αυτό το αεροδρόμιο οφείλω να ομολογήσω γιατί πάντα ερχόμουν με τρένο) και από εδώ ξεκινάει το ταξίδι μας!!!
Αφού πήραμε το λεωφορείο για το κέντρο της Θεσσαλονίκης (το νούμερο 78) και φτάσαμε στο ξενοδοχείο μας κοντά στην οδό Εγνατία, ξεκινήσαμε την πρώτη μας βόλτα στην πόλη!!! Παρασκευή βράδυ και όλος ο κόσμος ήταν έξω για βόλτα, φαγητό και ποτό!!
Επειδή πεινούσαμε πολύ καθώς ήταν και σχετικά αργά πήγαμε για φαγητό σε ένα εστιατόριο που μας πρότεινε ένα από τα ευγενέστατα παιδιά που δούλευαν στην υποδοχή του ξενοδοχείου που μέναμε, το ”Ελιά λεμόνι” στην οδό Καποδιστρίου. Να έχετε υπ’όψιν σας πως τα καλύτερα tips για την πόλη τα δίνουν οι ντόπιοι, επομένως μην ντρέπεστε, ρωτήστε: τους περαστικούς στο δρόμο, τους σερβιτόρους στις καφετέριες, τα άτομα που δουλεύουν στην υποδοχή του ξενοδοχείου που μένετε. Και πιστέψτε με θα βγείτε κερδισμένοι!!!! Έτσι και για μας!!! Το εστιατόριο μας ξετρέλανε!!! Δοκιμάσαμε τη σαλάτα Νανά, τζατζίκι, πατάτες στον πετρόφουρνο, μπουκιές κοτόπουλου και τηγανιά χοιρινή όπως και το εξαιρετικό ημίγλυκο κρασί τους. Το μαγαζί ήταν γεμάτο και ήμασταν τυχεροί γιατί κάτσαμε σε τραπέζι που η κράτηση ήταν για αργότερα.
Κλασικά μετά βόλτα στην παραλία και στην οδό Νίκης για να χωνέψουμε τα υπέροχα εδέσματα που φάγαμε και ύπνος γιατί μας περίμενε μια γεμάτη μέρα!!!!
Ξημέρωσε λοιπόν Σάββατο και αφού φάγαμε πρωινό στο ξενοδοχείο ξεκινήσαμε την περιήγηση στην πόλη.
Πρώτη στάση η παραλία!!!
Στη συνέχεια ανεβήκαμε στο Λευκό τον Πύργο!!!! Το σύμβολο της πόλης που κτίστηκε στα τέλη του 15ου αιώνα μετά την κατάκτηση της Θεσσαλονίκης από τους Τούρκους!! Μέσα στον Πύργο φιλοξενούνται και εκθέσεις!!
Επόμενή μας στάση το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο!! Εμείς δεν παραλείπουμε τα Αρχαιολογικά μουσεία στα ταξίδια μας ανά πόλεις γιατί μας αρέσει πολύ η ανακάλυψη του παρελθόντος και η σύνδεσή του με το παρόν!! (Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης)
Περάσαμε από την Πλατεία Ναυαρίνου (με την εκπληκτική κρέπα του Valentino που δεν δοκιμάσαμε αυτή τη φορά), την Αψίδα του Γαλέριου (γνωστή ως Καμάρα) η οποία αποτελεί σημείο συνάντησης για πολλούς από τους Θεσσαλονικείς ή μη και από την Ροτόντα (η οποία είναι μέσα στην λίστα των Μνημείων Παγκόσμιας Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς της UNESCO). Στη Ροτόντα θέλαμε να μπούμε και μέσα αλλά ήταν κλειστή λόγω εργασιών μέχρι τελη Δεκέμβρη.
Επόμενη στάση το ”Estrella” στην οδό Παύλου Μελά, ένα μικρό μαγαζάκι φημισμένο για το μπουγατσάν του, κρουασάν με γέμιση κρέμα μπουγάτσας δηλαδή, κάτι που υπάρχει μόνο στη Θεσσαλονίκη!!! Εκπληκτικό!!! Το βλέπεις και σου τρέχουν τα σάλια!! Εμείς προσθέσαμε και κόκκινα φρούτα!!! Ιδού το αποτέλεσμα!!!
Σειρά είχε ο Ναός του Αγίου Δημητρίου αφιερωμένος στον προστάτη και πολιούχο της πόλης!! Το 1917 κάηκε από πυρκαγιά και ξαναλειτούργησε το 1949, όταν ολοκληρώθηκε η αναστήλωσή του. Από την φωτιά διασώθηκαν μόνο κάποια ψηφιδωτά και κάποιες τοιχογραφίες.
Μια στάση στο ξενοδοχείο για μπανάκι και μετά φαγητό!!! Μας πρότειναν από το ξενοδοχείο το μαγαζάκι ”Η Κάνουλα” στην Προξένων! Αλλά επειδή ήταν Σάββατο βράδυ και έχει πολύ λίγα τραπέζια δεν βρήκαμε να καθίσουμε. Προχωρήσαμε στην πλατεία Άθωνος όπου γινόταν χαμός από φοιτητοπαρέες που έτρωγαν στα ταβερνάκια και χόρευαν με ζωντανή μουσική και επειδή θέλαμε κάτι πιο ήσυχο και πεινούσαμε καθίσαμε στο ψητοπωλείο ”Κατσαμάκα” . Αποδείχτηκε καλή επιλογή τελικά αν και το περιβάλλον δεν σε εμπνέει πολύ!! Πολύ νόστιμο το σουβλάκι τους έχω να πω!!
Και άλλη μια μέρα πέρασε στην πόλη της Θεσσαλονίκης!!!
Έφτασε λοιπόν και η Κυριακή!!! Πετούσαμε για Αθήνα το απόγευμα, επομένως είχαμε κάποιες ώρες να κάνουμε βόλτα στην πόλη!! Και τί δεν κάναμε;
Πήγαμε για βόλτα στο Μπιτ Παζάρ. Αντικερί, παλιά βιβλιοπωλεία και παλαιοπωλεία ξυπνούν μνήμες από μια άλλη εποχή. Δυστυχώς εμείς δεν πετύχαμε πολλά από αυτά ανοιχτά!!! Το βράδυ συγκεντρώνεται η νεολαία της πόλης στα μεζεδοπωλεία της ομώνυμης πλατείας.
Στη συνέχεια, πήγαμε σε ένα όχι και τόσο συνηθισμένο μουσείο. Στο μουσείο Ατατούρκ που βρίσκεται στο τουρκικό προξενείο. Πρόκειται για το σπίτι των παιδικών χρόνων του Μουσταφά Κεμάλ Ατατούρκ και να πω την αλήθεια ήμουν πολύ περίεργη να δω πώς μεγάλωσε και πού. Χτυπήσαμε λοιπόν το κουδούνι, υπογράψαμε στην είσοδο (όνομα και χώρα) και μπήκαμε μέσα. Αποτελεί το πρώτο μέρος που επισκέπτονται οι Τούρκοι στην Θεσσαλονίκη και θεωρείται τουρκικό έδαφος. Η επίπλωση στο μεγαλύτερο μέρος του κτηρίου είναι αυθεντική, ενώ όπου υπήρχαν κενά και ελλείψεις συμπληρώθηκαν με έπιπλα από το Μαυσωλείο του Ατατούρκ και το Τοπ Καπί στην Κωνσταντινούπολη. Πάρτε μια γεύση!
Και επειδή μια λιγούρα μας έπιασε κάναμε μια στάση στο ”Γιάννη” στην Μητροπόλεως για μπουγάτσα βεβαίως βεβαίως!!! Επειδή η ώρα ήταν κοντά στις 3 το μεσημέρι και θα έκλεινε για να ξανανοίξει το απόγευμα πετύχαμε μόνο μπουγάτσα γλυκιά!!! Όχι ότι μας χάλασε!!! Πήρα λοιπόν μία με κρέμα και ζάχαρη άχνη….όποιος θέλει του βάζουν και μερέντα!!! Μιαμ!!!!
Στη συνέχεια θέλαμε να ανέβουμε για βόλτα στην Άνω Πόλη!! Επειδή όμως ήταν Κυριακή και τα δρομολόγια του λεωφορείου 22 δεν ήταν πολύ συχνά πήραμε από τη στάση κοντά στο Λευκό Πύργο το Λεωφορείο Πολιτιστικής Διαδρομής του ΟΑΣΘ που κάνει διαδρομή στην ”ιστορία της Θεσσαλονίκης” με στάσεις στα πολυάριθμα ιστορικά μνημεία της πόλης. Διαρκεί 50-60 λεπτά και έχει αφετηρία και τέρμα το Λευκό Πύργο.
Πετύχαμε μάλιστα και εκδρομή σχολείου, επομένως αντί την κλασική ξενάγηση στις οθόνες του λεωφορείου είχαμε ”παιδική” ξενάγηση!! Τα περισσότερα παιδάκια γνώριζαν τα μνημεία της πόλης τους και έκαναν και ερωτήσεις στον συνοδό της Πολιτιστικής γραμμής.
Και φτάσαμεεε στην Άνω Πόλη!!!!
Η συγκεκριμένη περιοχή διασώθηκε από την πυρκαγιά του 1917. Όλα σε αυτή την πλευρά της πόλης θυμίζουν δεκαετία του 1960: γραφικά κτήρια, δρομάκια και ατμόσφαιρα. Μάλιστα έχει χαρακτηριστεί ως παραδοσιακός οικισμός από το 1979. Απολαύστε τη βόλτα μας…..
Και κάπως έτσι πήγαμε να πάρουμε τις βαλίτσες μας από το ξενοδοχείο και πήραμε το λεωφορείο για το αεροδρόμιο!!!!
Αντίο Σαλόνικα!!! Θα σου ξανάρθουμε!!!
Υ.Γ. Εννοείται πως κάθε μέρα περνούσαμε από την πλατεία Αριστοτέλους!! Και τώρα που είναι περίοδος γιορτών είχε μια άλλη ομορφιά: παγοδρόμιο και μαγαζάκια με ζαχαρωτά για μικρούς και μεγάλους και στολίδια παντού!!
