Η Πράγα ήταν για πολύ καιρό μέσα στην bucket list μου!! Κάθε φορά που έψαχνα, έβρισκα όλο και πιο ακριβά τα αεροπορικά εισιτήρια και απογοητευόμουν. Μέχρι που ο καλός μου είχε την ιδέα να πάμε μέσω Μιλάνου!

Prague has been a long time in my bucket list! But every time I was looking for flights, I found more and more expensive numbers, so I always ended up disappointed. Until my boyfriend had the idea to go through Milan!

 

(Tip: Το Μιλάνο τελικά είναι πολύ καλός ενδιάμεσος σταθμός για πτήσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο. Από τα αεροδρόμιά του φεύγουν χιλιάδες πτήσεις κάθε μέρα. Έχε το στο μυαλό σου την επόμενη φορά που θέλεις να κλείσεις εισιτήρια και σε αποθαρρύνουν οι τιμές!
         Milan is a very easy layover for flights all over the world. From its airports depart many flights every day. So have Milan in mind the next time you want to buy tickets and you feel disappointed by the prices!)

 

Τί να πρωτοπείς για αυτήν την πόλη!!! Την ερωτεύτηκα κεραυνοβόλα από τις φωτογραφίες και όταν την είδα από κοντά κατάλαβα γιατί!! Πλακόστρωτα δρομάκια, γέφυρες, πύργοι (λέγεται πως έχει 1000), εκπληκτική θέα, γοτθικά και μπαρόκ κτήρια σε αρμονία, θέατρο και ρομάντζο παντού!! Και την πέτυχα και στην καλύτερη εποχή της….το φθινόπωρο που όλα μοιάζουν μαγικά με τα κιτρινοκόκκινα φύλλα και το ηλιοβασίλεμα πάνω από τη γέφυρα του Καρόλου!!

There are no words to describe this city! I fell in love with Prague instantly through photos and when I visited it I understood why! Cobblestoned little streets, bridges, towers (they say that there are 1000), amazing views, gothic and baroque buildings, theatre and romance everywhere! The best season to go to Prague is in autumn when everything seems magical….the yellow-red leaves and the sunset at Charles bridge.

Περπάτησε στη Γέφυρα του Καρόλου/Walk along Charles Bridge

Το σήμα κατατεθέν της πόλης, μια από τις πιο διάσημες γέφυρες στον κόσμο. Ενώνει την Παλιά Πόλη με το Κάστρο και φιλοξενεί καλλιτέχνες που είτε παίζουν μουσική είτε ζωγραφίζουν. Όταν πήγαμε ήταν γεμάτη από κόσμο και δεν την πολυευχαριστήθηκα!

The landmark of the city, one of the most famous bridges in the world. The bridge unites the Old Town with the Castle and on it you can find many artists playing music or painting. When we walked on it, it was packed with so many people that I didn’t enjoy it as I would love to!

 

Επισκέψου το Κάστρο της Πράγας/Visit the Prague Castle

Θα χρειαστείς τουλάχιστον μισή μέρα κατά τη γνώμη μου για να δεις όλο το συγκρότημα! Είναι το αρχαιότερο κάστρο του κόσμου σύμφωνα με τα ρεκόρ Guinness, και αν μπορούσα να προσθέσω και ένα από τα ωραιότερα! Θα περπατήσεις στους Κήπους και θα μπεις στον Καθεδρικό του Aγίου Βίτου με τα εκπληκτικά βιτρώ. Κάνε και μια βόλτα στην Golden Lane και θα με θυμηθείς. Το εισιτήριο είναι για δύο μέρες και μπορείς να επιλέξεις ανάμεσα σε τρεις διαδρομές.

You’ll need at least half a day to explore all the complex! It’s the most ancient castle according to the Guinness World records, and if I might add one of the prettiest too. Stroll around the gardens and enter the St. Vitus Cathedral with the amazing stained glass. Walk the Golden Lane too. The ticket is valid for two days, you can choose between three circuits.

 

Βγάλε μια φωτογραφία ή γράψε κάτι στον τοίχο του John Lennon/Take a photo or write sth on the John Lennon Wall

Σε μια μικρή πλατεία λίγο αφότου περάσεις τη γέφυρα του Καρόλου (Velkopřevorské náměstí), βρίσκεται ένας τοίχος γεμάτος graffitis και στίχους από τα τραγούδια των Beatles. Αν είσαι λάτρης της street art, αξίζει να πας.

At Velkopřevorské náměstí, near after you pass the Charles bridge, you can find a wall full of graffitis and lyrics from Beatles’ songs. If you are a street art lover, you should pass by.

Δοκίμασε το γλυκό trdelnik/Taste the sweet trdelnik

Μπορείς να το βρεις παντού στην Πράγα, καθώς το πωλούν πολλοί πλανόδιοι!! Με φουντούκι ήταν υπέροχο.

You can find it everywhere in Prague, as many streets vendors are selling it. I tried it with hazelnut and I loved it.

 

Το Αστρονομικό Ρολόι/The Astronomical Clock

Το πιο παλιό σε λειτουργία ρολόι στον κόσμο τραβά τα βλέμματα στην πλατεία της Παλιάς πόλης. Κάθε μια ώρα ένας μικρός σκελετός χτυπά το κουδουνάκι, οι 12 Απόστολοι παρελαύνουν στο παράθυρο και ένας μικρός χρυσός πετεινός λαλεί. Θα σου πρότεινα να πας 5-10 λεπτά νωρίτερα για να βρεις καλό σημείο!

The oldest operating clock in the world catches the eye at the Old Town Square. Every hour a little skeleton rings a bell, the 12 apostles make their appearance at the windows and then a little golden rooster crows. Make sure you”ll be there 5-10 minutes above to catch a good spot!

Η Pilsner είναι η πιο διάσημη!! Μπες σε ένα pivovar και πιες!

Pilsner is the most famous!! Get yourself inside a pivovar and drink!

Μπορείς να διαλέξεις και ανάλογα με τον αφρό που θέλεις!!

You can also choose the foam you want!!

 

Παρακολούθησε μια παράσταση Μαύρου θεάτρου/See a Black theatre show

Ένας διασκεδαστικός τρόπος να περάσεις το βράδυ σου! Και είναι και τοπική παράδοση! Εμείς είδαμε την παράσταση Life is Life στο Metro Black Light Theatre. Μάλιστα στο τέλος μας αποκάλυψαν και μυστικά για το μαύρο θέατρο!!!!

A fun way to spend an evening in Prague. It’s a local tradition too. We enjoyed the show Life is Life at the Metro Black Light Theatre. And at the end of the show they revealed some secrets of the black theatre!!!!

 

Κάνε τα ψώνια σου στην πλατεία Wenceslas/Go shopping in the Wenceslas square

Στην κεντρική πλατεία της Νέας Πόλης υπάρχουν όλα τα international brands και πολλές καφετέριες. Και μπαρόκ κτήρια!

At this central square of the New Town, you can find all the international brands and many cafes. And baroque buildings!

 

Εξερεύνησε την Εβραϊκή γειτονιά (Josefov)/Explore the Jewish quarter (Josefov)

Μια από τις πιο αυθεντικές γειτονιές με τα παλιά μαγαζάκια και την Ισπανική Συναγωγή να κλέβει την παράσταση.

One of the most authentic quarters with the old stores. The Spanish Synagogue catches the eye.

 

Κάνε μια βόλτα στην πλατεία της Παλιάς πόλης/Take a stroll around the Old Town square

Η καρδιά της πόλης με τα μπαροκ και art nouveau πολύχρωμα κτήρια. Νομίζεις ότι βρίσκεσαι σε παραμύθι.

The heart of the city with the baroque and art nouveau colourful buildings. You think you are inside a fairytale.

 

Απόλαυσε την τέχνη της μαριονέττας/Enjoy the art of puppetry

Βρίσκονται παντού στην πόλη, από μαγαζάκια μέχρι θέατρα! Έτσι κι εμείς είπανε να δούμε την παράσταση Don Giovanni στο National Marionette Theatre. Δεν καταλάβαμε τα πάντα (μιλώ λίγα ιταλικά αλλά ο καλός μου καθόλου), αλλά ήταν όμορφη εμπειρία.

You can find marionettes everywhere in the city, from little shops to theatres. We enjoyed the show of Don Giovanni at the National Marionette Theatre. We couldn’t understand the entire show (I speak a bit of italian, but my boyfriend doesn’t speak at all), but it was a nice experience.

 

Πέρασε από το Dancing House/Stroll pass the Dancing House

Ένα ξεχωριστό κτήριο! Ήξερες ότι έχει παρατσούκλι;; Το αποκαλούν Fred and Ginger, από τους διάσημους χορευτές.

A special building. Did you know that it has a nickname?? It is called Fred and Ginger, from the famous dancers.

 

Κάνε μια βόλτα από την γειτονιά Mala Strana/Go for a walk around Mala Strana

Αξίζει πολύ!!! Υπέροχη μπαρόκ αρχιτεκτονική, ειδικά στην οδό Nerudova!!! 

You should do it. Marvellous baroque architecture, especially on Nerudova street.

 

Απόλαυσε τσέχικο παραδοσιακο φαγητό/Enjoy some traditional Czech food

Ειναι λίγο βαριά, αλλά είναι ξεχωριστή. Goulash κυρίως. Μπορεί να προέρχεται από την Ουγγαρία, αλλά οι Τσέχοι το έχουν διαφοροποιήσει. Το τσέχικο περιλαβάνει μόνο κρέας, όχι πατάτες, όχι λαχανικά, το σερβίρουν με ψωμί στον ατμό, γνωστό ως knedliky. Εμείς δειπνήσαμε σε τρία μαγαζάκια και σας τα προτείνω: Hajnovka, Pivovarsky Dum και U Medvidku.

It is heavy but it’s special. Goulash mostly. It may be Hungarian, but the Czechs made differences. Czech goulash is about meat, no potatoes, no vegetables, and it is served with slices of steamed bread which are known as knedliky. We dined at three local restaurants and I suggest them to you: Hajnovka, Pivovarsky Dum and U Medvidku.

 

Απόλαυσε την πολυτέλεια στην οδό Pařížská/Enjoy the luxury on Pařížská street

Ο πιο ακριβός και πολυτελής δρόμος της πόλης. Αν δεν το αντέχει η τσέπη σου, μπορείς απλά να χαζέψεις τις βιτρίνες.

The most expensive and luxurious street of the city. If you can’t afford to buy, you can do window shopping. 

 

Κάνε μια στάση στα παλιά καφέ της Πράγας/Fuel up at Prague’s old Cafés

Ο Αινστάϊν και ο Κάφκα είχαν κάτσει στα καφέ αυτά με τις κομψές λεπτομέρειες και το φοβερό service. Εμείς κάτσαμε στο Café Louvre και στο Café Savoy. Εξαιρετικά!!

Einstein and Kafka were hosted at these cafés with the elegant details and service. We entered the Café Louvre and the Café Savoy. Wow.
