Μετά το Camp Nou στην Βαρκελώνη, το Stadio San Siro στο Μιλάνο και το Estadio Santiago Bernabeu στην Μαδρίτη, ήρθε η στιγμή να δω από κοντά άλλο ένα ευρωπαϊκό γήπεδο ποδοσφαίρου. Κι αν με ρωτήσεις είναι το γήπεδο που ήθελα να δω περισσότερο απ’όλα πολλάαα χρόνια τώρα! Όχι δεν είμαι φαν της ομάδας που φιλοξενεί (της Benfica), αλλά είναι το γήπεδο στο οποίο μάθαμε ότι τα όνειρα όσο μεγάλα και ακατόρθωτα μπορεί να μοιάζουν εν τέλει μπορεί να γίνουν πραγματικότητα!! Είναι το γήπεδο στο οποίο η Εθνική Ελλάδος ποδοσφαίρου έπαιξε στον τελικό του Euro 2004 (με αντίπαλο την διοργανώτρια Πορτογαλία) και στέφθηκε πρωταθλήτρια Ευρώπης για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία της.
Όπως καταλαβαίνεις ανυπομονούσα να δω το γήπεδο και να πατήσω το χορτάρι του όπως έκαναν τότε ο Ζαγοράκης, ο Καραγκούνης, ο Σεϊταρίδης, να νιώσω την ενέργειά του και να μεταφερθώ πίσω στο χρόνο ανήμερα της 4ης Ιουλίου 2004! Και πραγματικά ήταν από τις ωραιότερες ξεναγήσεις σε γήπεδο…..γιατί ενώ στα άλλα γήπεδα που είχα επισκεφτεί η ξενάγηση ήταν self-service, αυτή την φορά μας ξενάγησε υπάλληλος της Benfica. Πήραμε το μετρό και κατεβήκαμε στην στάση Colegio Militar, αγοράσαμε το εισιτήριό μας από το Benfica Official store για το στάδιο μόνο (κοστίζει 12,50 ευρώ κι εμείς με την Lisboa Card πληρώσαμε 10) και σε λίγη ώρα η ξενάγηση ξεκίνησε!!

Μάθαμε πληροφορίες για το παλιό στάδιο της Benfica αλλά και για το παρόν, μάθαμε για το Caixa Futebol Campus (τις ακαδημίες και τα προπονητικά κέντρα που διαθέτει η ομάδα), βγάλαμε πανοραμικές φωτογραφίες του γηπέδου, μπήκαμε στα αποδυτήρια της ομάδας και στην αίθουσα τύπου, περάσαμε από το tunnel όπου βγαίνουν οι παίκτες στον αγωνιστικό χώρο και βγήκαμε στο γήπεδο. Μάλιστα ένα από τα ξεχωριστά σημεία της ξενάγησης αποτέλεσε η ευκαιρία να δούμε από κοντά τους τρείς αετούς της ομάδας (Gloria, Vitoria και Luz). Αν έχεις δει κάποιον από τους αγώνες της Benfica θα ξέρεις πως λίγο πριν αρχίσει ένας αγώνας στο Da Luz, ένας αετός πετάει από την μία άκρη του γηπέδου μέχρι το σημείο όπου βρίσκεται η μπάλα του αγώνα. Έμαθα πως κάθε αετός εκπαιδεύεται ένα χρόνο περίπου για να είναι έτοιμος να πραγματοποιήσει την πτήση αυτή.
Η αλήθεια είναι πως από την στιγμή που βγήκαμε από το tunnel στον αγωνιστικό χώρο άκουσα ελάχιστα πράγματα από αυτά που μας έλεγε η ξεναγός. Κι αυτό γιατί είχα μεταφερθεί πίσω στον χρόνο και προσπαθούσα να ανασύρω από την μνήμη μου τα γεγονότα της 4ης Ιουλίου. Και είχα πλημμυρίσει από συναισθήματα χαράς και υπερηφάνειας. Έβλεπα στιγμές του παιχνιδιού, άκουγα στ’ αυτιά μου πεντακάθαρα την φωνή του Χελάκη να περιγράφει τον αγώνα. Είδα το γκολ του Άγγελου Χαριστέα, άκουσα την κόρνα της λήξης, είδα τον προπονητή Ρεχάγκελ να τρέχει με ανοιχτά χέρια, τους Έλληνες παίκτες να αγκαλιάζονται, άκουγα τον Γαλανόλευκο Φάρο να τραγουδάει συνθήματα, είδα τον Ζαγοράκη να σηκώνει την κούπα!! Πού να ακούσω μετά τί μας έλεγε η κοπέλα…χαχα!!!
